We got to travel to Pierre again this year, this time as a family. It was a great free "date" to bring Levi on because he loves lights. We didn't catch free pie day this year because of bad weather, but it was still fun. There were MANY trees to look at.It is the Capitol's 100 years so they decorated their largest tree accordingly. One tree was decorated with peacock feathers. This was one of my favorite photos of the day.One nice feature of the free date is that we were treated to good music. This all-men's group was very good!
I loved the pictures - the ones of the trees with the lights are so beautiful! The "Levi Express" is too cute for words! Thanks! Sounds like a fun time.
Andrew and Alissa, you both look so radiant and happy in these photos--parenthood is good for you! And I can tell Levi really enjoyed the lights. I noticed that the big christmas tree in the rotunda has "100" on it. Out of curiosity, I did an online search, digging up the factoid that 2010 is the 100-year anniversary of the South Dakota Capitol Building. Your close-ups of the peacock feather and the holiday bulbs are really artsy. Awesome photography!
Glorious photos! Levi looks so engaged in the sights to see! Your pictures all look so *sparkly* from the trees! How do you make those cute snowflake frames around the pictures?

Thanks for all the happy comments!
Alan - you are right! I wrote a tiny blurb about it being 100 years but it kinda gets lost between photos.
Jan - I used a program called Picnik (on the internet)it costs $2.80 a month but a lot of features on it are free, and then a little bit of photoshop.
