Toddler Activities

Levi looked so cute smiling in this photo, I just had to post it.
During breakfast I made up a toddler activity with Levi and he loved it. I just handed him a small straw and showed him how to put a cheerio on it. It kept him occupied for awhile.
The day turned nice today so I went out to weed the front flower bed. Levi helped dig in the dirt and then took the weeds from me and piled them up for me to throw away. He actually really helped me out. After about 20 minutes he wandered off to play in the neighbors' rocks.
Other things he is up to these days is kissing us on the cheeks, repeating a lot of things we say, asking to read his toddler Bible, and collecting rocks.

Easter 2012

Happy Easter 2012 to our friends and family! Our photo isn't superb as we were in a rush to change after church and go to a church member's home to eat. (Not a good time to try to take a family photo :)
I left the full photo for future reference for myself on how far along the growing things are outside as things are blossoming earlier this year.

We had a full weekend with 4 church services starting Thursday and extra community events. I took Levi to an Easter egg hunt put on by our grocer and another by a nursing home. The grocer one was outdoors and SUPER windy and chilly. Several of my friends and there children got together with us and we gathered eggs together. Here I am holding Levi back from trying to grab all the eggs until the whistle blows.
This is Levi's 1st and only egg that he found and picked up:I was trying to get him to drop it in the sack when an airplane flew over and from then on he was watching the sky and by the time he looked down all the eggs were scooped up. :) I re-hid some eggs at home later as he really had fun hunting. He just gets easily distracted by awesome engine run vehicles.
Here is an Easter bucket he received from the church members whose house we went to for Easter dinner. It had bubbles, a book, and fish & animal cracker. Perfect for a toddler. I refilled it with a few books lovingly sent to him by "Grammy Lori" as well as 2 match box "Cars 2" cars I found on sale for .99 cents at kmart. He loved the books and the cheap car we got him. Thanks Grammy Lori!!!
Also, I figured I had to share this adorable picture and add an explanation. Levi has a fascination with toilets so I decided to use that to my advantage and attempt to explain the basics of using the "potty", instead of getting annoyed at all the toys he kept throwing in to our own toilet. A friend let me borrow her little potty and Levi takes time each day to sit on it now. He is no where near potty training or anything but he thinks its pretty cool to sit on it if we are sitting on one. :) Also , the pondering look he is giving is priceless.Lastly, here is a photo of my parents on the day of the wedding. I just snapped it quickly in the front yard but I like it and hadn't put it on the blog yet.

18 Months & Garden Update

Levi said "love you!" for the 1st time 3 days ago. It was so sweet. He also started running everywhere about 3 days ago. He is almost out of size 5 shoe. Favorite words this week are: moon, mimi, papa, mama, daddy, and woo-woo (train). He says "please" when prompted and occasionally when not. He currently can't get enough of bubbles. He grabs the bubble container and waves it at me and says "bubbles" until I blow some and then he runs around popping them. (see photo below for his amazing bubble roaring face.) He can't get enough of the outdoors and screeches when he has to come inside. Good thing God is blessing us with an amazingly warm spring! He loves to roar when we say dinosaur (and lion, truck, airplane or any other load machine type thing).Levi also is getting better with "prayer hands" for meals. (see photo below) After meals he asks for "Bible". Andrew reads him a story or two from his Beginners Bible. And if that all isn't cute enough, check out the photo below. These two guys are mostly my world. :) Andrew surprised me by tilling up the whole garden this weekend. Thank you Andrew!!! I also just wanted my close family/friends to know that while we were in California, we miscarried. Keep us in your prayers. Here are some beautiful flowers that a few close friends in town gave us to remember the little one. Andrew and I had a beautiful little family service over the weekend.
I took this photo with the chalkboard behind me on purpose. The quote I have written there is, "Let your faith be bigger than your fear." We love you little one, even though you were only with us for a short time. Here is the poem I wrote for the little service:
"You were with us for such a short time,
but that doesn't change my mind.
You are a gift from God for a special purpose.
Someday God will share it with us.
Since I can't keep you from this world's harms,
I pray Jesus holds you for us in His arms.
Love, Mama."

Photos to come soon from my Brother Stephen's wedding.
