Sweet Ride & Other Things

Somehow my last post was deleted.... It just disappeared! Grrrr....! So here is the free ride we scored in Iowa the other weekend. It is the 3rd addition to our garage.

This is Levi's taste of strawberries. He liked the first piece but the 2nd was too sour.
Lucy making use of the baby toys.
My garden's arch nemesis.

Sharing some random stuff...

Levi is trying some blended up strawberry. Too sour, Mama!
This guy is my arch nemesis! (Particularly with regard to my garden!)
The third car in our garage! We scored this sweet ride for free when we were in Iowa the other weekend. It was giant town trash day and it was heaped up with other junk to go to the dump. All it needs is one new tire! (which can be purchased for $3) I think it is funny that it already had SD plates when we got it in Iowa! :)
At least someone is getting some use out of this! :) I went in the house for a second to grab my camera and came out to find Levi had moved off the playmat and Lucy had moved on (or rather under) it!

Boy Shorts

I have been attempting to better my sewing skills so that I can make some of my own. Here is my first try at making infant boy shorts. I started with two cloth napkins of this size and a pair of Levi's shorts as a model.
Here is the finished product! I consider it a success!

Nice Weather!

This is the first day Levi and I wore shorts! It has been unusually cool until today! It's 73 degrees right now and it is 7:30 pm! We are VERY ready for this nice weather!
This is my first ever bouquet of flowers for my very first Mother's Day! The Senior High youth had it delivered to our house. It was such a surprise!
I have been practicing my sewing skills more lately. I have been trying to find boy things to sew, but haven't found much so I made this baby girl shirt/dress and needed a model to make sure it fit so once again Levi came through for me :) Andrew commented that even in girl clothes Levi looks like a boy. I agree.

30-Hour Famine, Ordination Service & Mini-Vacation

Last weekend was VERY busy but fun. Andrew was in charge of a 30-hour famine with the youth. He did such a fantastic job planning and partaking in this event. Levi and I were in more of a support role :) Here is the 3-legged race.
There was a duck tape contest to see who could make the greatest article of clothing. Levi is modeling one of the group's hats.
We also drove to Paulina, IA to attend and participate in Tim's ordination. Andrew preached the sermon.
We stayed at the "White House Bed & Breakfast" and were put up in the "Presidential Suite" complete with King bed and copper tub.
On the drive back we stopped in Orange City to take a photo of this wind mill. I think it was a bank. They are VERY dutch here.
We also stopped at Sioux Falls' "Falls Park" for the first time. It was "quite a little bit on the breezy side" (to borrow the words of one of our weather people) but it was fun. We had a Taco Bell picnic in the park.
Levi loved staring at the falls. This was as close as I came to taking a picture of a pheasant...

Resurrection Day and Spring Fun

A few local shops hosted what I am going to name a "Spring Bunny" on Saturday. A church member mentioned we should take Levi for a picture with it so we did. We also scored a free fruit smoothie and cookie. Lately he has cried when strangers get in his face or hold him but he was happy to sit with the bunny.

This weekend was incredibly busy for Andrew. We were along for the ride! On Resurrection morning Levi decided to wake up at 3:30 am and never really sleep well for the rest of the night until right before the sunrise service. Then I got him up for that and left him in his jammies. I figured I would change him in between services. We were at church from 6:40 till Noon. Then we went to a church members house for dinner and didn't get home till 3 pm. We were all ready for a nap! Here is Levi at the breakfast after the sunrise service.
Here he is hanging with a member of the youth group.
This is Andrew and his Confirmation Class he has taught this year.
Here is this year's Easter family portrait. Last year I was 4 months pregnant! Levi is waving hell0.

7 Months!

The time is just flying by since Levi was born! He is getting so big and so wiggly! We are pretty sure he will be crawling any day now because he is constantly rolling over and has finally figured out how to hoist up his back end. In some ways it is exciting and in some ways it is scary to think that he will be ALL over and into EVERYTHING soon! I had a really hard time with his monthly photo this time around as he was trying to roll off and move so much but here are some gems:
He rolled himself in this position. I like to call it the model pose. (Also known as "Blue Steel")
Also, if you would be so kind, Levi is entered in to the "Cutest Baby Contest". Please vote for him, but only once per person and per email address. :)
