30-Hour Famine, Ordination Service & Mini-Vacation

Last weekend was VERY busy but fun. Andrew was in charge of a 30-hour famine with the youth. He did such a fantastic job planning and partaking in this event. Levi and I were in more of a support role :) Here is the 3-legged race.
There was a duck tape contest to see who could make the greatest article of clothing. Levi is modeling one of the group's hats.
We also drove to Paulina, IA to attend and participate in Tim's ordination. Andrew preached the sermon.
We stayed at the "White House Bed & Breakfast" and were put up in the "Presidential Suite" complete with King bed and copper tub.
On the drive back we stopped in Orange City to take a photo of this wind mill. I think it was a bank. They are VERY dutch here.
We also stopped at Sioux Falls' "Falls Park" for the first time. It was "quite a little bit on the breezy side" (to borrow the words of one of our weather people) but it was fun. We had a Taco Bell picnic in the park.
Levi loved staring at the falls. This was as close as I came to taking a picture of a pheasant...

What a fun trip. I love the Falls. My Mom and Dad are from there so we spent a lot of time there growing up.

Would have loved going to Tim's ordination, but didn't get back from California until Friday night, and just couldn't make such a long trip again. The photos of the falls, and famine are great. I have never seen a 3-legged race with 3 people and FOUR legs! Jan

I'm so glad you got to take the trip. The bed and breakfast place looked very special and historic! The cascading waterfalls are beautiful.
