1st Trick or Treat

Levi fit in to the cute astronaut costume given to us by Mimi Crandall. I wasn't sure how he would do in it as he isn't a big fan of things on his head some days but he loved it!

We went to a local nursing home that was passing out candy and visited with the residents while trick or treating.

Then we went over to our neighbors homes to say hello and trick or treat. Now when he sees the lights on he says "Trick or treat?"

I dressed up as "Mars" to walk around the nursing home with Levi. You can see my tape with writing on my belly if you click on the photo or just squint. :)

We went on a trip to Hot Springs, SD the other weekend for Presbytery and I have a lot of photos so I figured I would post a few here and then do another post. It was the day of our 1st snow of the season and was cold but Levi, a friend from church and I enjoyed a walk to see the hot springs flowing and falling in downtown. All through the winter the water is still warm. It was really nice.

Another thing I did recently was help a group of ladies (2 from my church and several from a nearby community) sew some dresses for "Little Dresses for Africa". Levi played happily without throwing pins, thread or touching the sewing machines most of the day. We were glad to get out of the house as the men were working all day in our house replacing windows and using power tools. (More on the windows in another post. )

30-Hour Famine, Ordination Service & Mini-Vacation

Last weekend was VERY busy but fun. Andrew was in charge of a 30-hour famine with the youth. He did such a fantastic job planning and partaking in this event. Levi and I were in more of a support role :) Here is the 3-legged race.
There was a duck tape contest to see who could make the greatest article of clothing. Levi is modeling one of the group's hats.
We also drove to Paulina, IA to attend and participate in Tim's ordination. Andrew preached the sermon.
We stayed at the "White House Bed & Breakfast" and were put up in the "Presidential Suite" complete with King bed and copper tub.
On the drive back we stopped in Orange City to take a photo of this wind mill. I think it was a bank. They are VERY dutch here.
We also stopped at Sioux Falls' "Falls Park" for the first time. It was "quite a little bit on the breezy side" (to borrow the words of one of our weather people) but it was fun. We had a Taco Bell picnic in the park.
Levi loved staring at the falls. This was as close as I came to taking a picture of a pheasant...

Post Valentine's Church Dinner

The Church Youth Group (and leaders) put on a Post-Valentine's Dinner at church to raise money for upcoming youth events. It was a pretty nice night of lasagna/chicken alfredo dinner, a bit of ballroom dancing, live music (thanks to a few church members and their fun band!) and fellowship.

Here are the high schoolers and leaders responsible for the fun night!
The church was really nicely decorated. It was a fun, and tiring, night. And... it was the first time someone noticed we are expecting. I guess because I am thin my belly kind of popped.
