Roses in September?

All of our rose bushes are flowering again. Mysterious but beautiful!
This carrot had a 2" diameter. We cooked it in vanilla & honey last night in our "all home grown" or "homegrown in Huron" meal. Here is a "last days of summer" photo of Levi. I just thought it was adorable. Here he is watching an airplane. <3Levi grabbed my fudgesicle and licked/ate it. I guess I am gonna have to take a cue from D & H and eat it after he goes to bed. :)

Trying New Things & Another Visit

Levi has been trying all sorts of new things this month. As of Sept. 1, he started climbing the stairs.
He also dove right in on this garden fresh cucumber. He is pulling himself up all over the house and beyond as long as there is a motivation. (ex. books he is not supposed to touch, and to go after Lucy and pull her tail.)
Also, Grammy Lori came to visit for a few days. We took her to the state fair (here) and to the Laura Ingalls DeSmet location.Levi got his 1st taste of cow milk. (It was chocolate so of COURSE he loved it.) They have unlimited refills of milk (chocolate or white) for $2. Best deal at the fair.)Lastly, see this red thing up in the tree? That is one of my tomatoes... the squirrels keep picking the ripe ones and dragging them up the tree and eating them... SERIOUSLY....

Camping in CO.

We had a great time camping in Golden Gate Canyon State Park, CO. with my parents.
We picnicked....So did the ground squirrels. (We did not feed him on purpose!)We tent camped. Here is Levi with his very own lantern thanks to Grandma & Grandpa! He loved it.We hiked.I love this picture because Andrew found a heart shape rock and Levi is studying the map and looks like he thinks we took the wrong trail. We made it to the top!We wandered around surrounding towns.Levi looked cute. (And fell of rocks...)And we celebrated a little mini-birthday with Grandma & Grandpa. I love Levi's expression in response to his 1st birthday cupcake and candle.

Denver Visit Part 2

We got to attend a Rockies game again this year! Andrew was particularly thrilled.
We had a feast of a picnic thanks to Hillary! We all carried parts of the meal in our packs. The security guard said he had never seen such a good looking picnic. Levi agreed.
This is Levi's 1st time trying to drink from a straw. It was such a monumentous occasion that the Rockies Cam found us :) (See below. Yes the exact moment I was taking the picture of Levi drinking with a straw, the cam found us and I whipped around and snapped the photo.)We had a little rain so i just stuffed Levi in the poncho. "Pouch!"This was Levi and I at the game last year getting our picture with Dinger! (Notice the stands are packed!)
And here are Levi and I this year. (I was too lazy to stand in line this time so we just got him in the background.)
Grace took Levi down the slide at the stadium. I like the action shot but Levi is less than thrilled. And lastly, this adorable picture of Levi bathing in Denver. The tub is always bluer on the other side of the country! :)

Denver Visit

Once again I enjoyed parts of our drive from our home to Denver. It is the 2nd (actually possibly 3rd) summer in a row I have enjoyed the beautiful fields of Sunflowers in August.
We had a wonderful visit with the Denver Crandalls. We walked to Crown Hill Lake on Sunday morning as their church didn't meet till late afternoon. It was peaceful and fun!Andrew's favorite part was eating the ritual Sunday morning popcorn, lakeside. I like the view of the mountains in the background and the clouds reflected in the lake.Levi is sporting his new hat. (Found on a wonderful thrifting trip with Hillary.) I LOVE this picture: my two favorite men!We also went on the Celestial Seasonings Free Factory Tour. It was interesting and the free tea tasting was enjoyed by all (including Levi!).The dress and shoes are made of tea packages.
After our tea taste and tour we had a wonderful picnic out under the trees. Here are a few adorable pictures I got of the nieces!More to come soon!

11 Months (a little late)

I didn't have a chance to post his 11 month picture as we were out and about enjoying time with the Denver Crandalls and my parents. Isn't he just getting so big?! I cannot believe he is almost a year! (Yes, he is holding a snack to "help him sit still", hah.) I did notice when I would bring out the camera and say, "smile for mama", Levi would move the snack from in front of his mouth and smile.
I wanted to add a few more photos from the Chicago wedding before moving on to our time in Denver! (pics thanks to Jen R.)
(1) Pre-wedding flower arranging, set-up and rehearsal.(2) Pre-wedding photos.(3) Post-wedding reception.
I will blog about the Denver trip ASAP so watch for it!
