We made the paper!

I really hadn't gotten around to scanning and posting this until now. Do you see Jan and I? This was from their recent visit. We were looking around at the booths in the park and had no idea our picture was taken. All the other pictures on the page had to do with children and the parade, and then there was this one right in the middle of the page:I also had not gotten the chance to post this picture of my Spring cactus. It has not bloomed like this since Andrew bought it for me before we were married. It seems to like our 3-seasons room.

Garden update & 4th Fireworks

These zucchinis were the first veggie of my garden harvest. They aren't too big but they tasted good in our stir fry! Jan and Alan got to sample them while they were here. We also getting a bowl of berries every few days, which is wonderful.

The rest of the pictures are from our 4th of July in S.D. The fireworks are shot off over part of Ravine Lake. Though the mosquitoes were nasty (as Jan can attest) it was a nice evening with the family.

Family Fun

We really enjoyed having Jan and Alan come up for a visit. It had been awhile!!! It was not too relaxing for them but they helped out without complaining. (except maybe about the bugs :) First Alan and Andrew were preparing to take out our 3/4 dead tree.

Jan quickly joined when she realized power tools were involved. I just attempted to save the garden.
We did get out to Music in the Park, which is held weekly in the summer. It was nice to enjoy a community event together. More to come!
