Spicer Made National News

Yesterday:

We were getting ready to head back to Spicer from S.D. when we heard the news. It did not touch our farm house. It did however hit our local grocery store, as well as the neighborhood where we lived 5 months ago.

Glad you were safe.

Your photo or video wouldn't come in for us, we only got a black box. What happened?? Sounds like a tornado? Was anyone hurt? Damage to the house you'd lived in? Is the grocery store in business?

Did you open it in Explorer? That should work. I found it did not open with Firefox. It might just be your connection.

A tornado hit with apparently now sirens so that man selling fresh produce on the street ran for his car as it touched down and it blew apart his stand. Cars had windows blown out in the Grocery store parking lot. The store's roof got damaged but they worked all day on fixing it yesterday and it looks way better. A lot of trees in our next door neighbors yard on Lakeview are no longer there. (They had a bunch of nice big ones) A few on that block lost part of roofs and so they have tarps on them. The local baseball field's fence is battered. Only one building was completely lost and luckily it was mostly just storage.

We just have a black hole there. I did look it up on Google. I remember those big trees of your neighbors, wow! I don't think that is an experience I'd like to go through. That Lakeview neighborhood seems to be the one hardest hit, huh?
Alan's gone to a church history Q&A tonight, so I will write some more of our story. I speak at Women's Breakfast in a.m. The rain has been so heavy, I doubt anyone will come, they will probably have to call all the ship women in to fill even a few seats!
