Homemade Things

This week happens to be graduation for the High School here and we know several people graduating. We have been invited to their open houses this weekend and I was a little stumped as to what to bring as a little gift. This is what I successfully made: (recognize the fabric Sara? I used some for a little onsie for Violet.)
I even successfully added a zipper (my first attempt at such a feet). Then I found this little metal bead that says "Laugh often", and the other side says "Love much". It became the zipper pull. I really like how it turned out. My other project this week was to finish my very first paper-pieced quilt block. (Thanks to Jan teaching me the basics while she was here the other weekend.) I think it will be a center for a table runner. (who knows, maybe the table runner will be one of your's Christmas gifts this year :)

Wow - the purse really looks professional--you should consider going into the business! Great job! I liked the quilted table runner as well.

You are a really great seamstress! That purse is very nicely done, and the detail work is special. Your paper pieced block is very nice--it will be fun to finish up into a whole runner!
