Wall Drug, Rushmore and more

I have been told by numerous people, that I have to stop at Wall Drug if I ever make it to the Black Hills. We went. We saw. We conquered. I am also okay never feeling the need to go again :).

The Wall stop was immediately following the Badlands tour. We ate tasty Buffalo burgers for dinner at Wall Drug. Andrew picked a wonderful restored old hotel in down town Rapid City for our first night. The following day we visited Mt. Rushmore. I actually made it all the way around the trail to get a closer look. Somehow the direction we chose to take on the loop had all the stairs going up and so it took me a little longer. If we had known, we would have gone the opposite direction and mostly just gone down stairs. Live and learn.
Andrew also planned a special trip for us on the "1880 Train". It travels from Keystone to Hill City and back. It has open windows and we just enjoyed the scenery and relaxed. Perfect for a pregnant woman in her 3rd trimester! The views of the Black Hills were beautiful.

Not sure if I've ever been to Wall Drug. I love those mountain trainrides on old trains! Lovely photos.

It sounds like you had a great vacation - even at Wall Drug Store! We enjoyed the cute pictures. The train reminded me of the one in Colorado - the Durango Silverton train. I'm so glad you had the opportunity to do that!
