Camping at Clearwater

We went to Clearwater Presbyterian Camp over the weekend to help get the camp up and running for the summer season. Here is what we were greeted with: rain. This is the cabin where we stayed while we were at the camp. (On a sunnier day obviously)It was WAY colder than we had anticipated. We did not even have coats with us. We helped put the diving platforms and docks back in the lake. ...So that people like me can fish :) (I caught this little guy without really meaning to. He went right back!)While helping put in docks I couldn't help but take a picture of these things called "Hydro-bikes".When we weren't helping we were pressing ourselves up against warm surfaces! The windchill was incredible! (another warm surface! :)Here is an interesting flower I found. I had not seen one with just 3 petals like this before. And this is what water lilies look like before they surface.
Here is a log attacked by a woodpecker.
We saw several cool birds, while at camp. These Loons made some really crazy calls at dusk. It sounded like a little girl screaming frantically.
Andrew caught this bald eagle hunting.
Sunday was the best day, weather-wise. And it was only a half-day. It was great to get out and see some different surroundings.

You guys do look cold. Hydro-bikes look really fun.
You guys get such great shots of wildlife.
There is a huge owl living behind our house, we've been trying to get a shot of him at sunset when he appears, but he's eluding us.

The three-petaled flower is a trillium (tri=3). My, but it certainly warms up late in Minnesota. Out in Sacramento the weekend was 100+ degrees! But yesterday, when I was in Minneapolis they said it was 90, so you should be getting warmer, too. Your wildlife photos are amazing! Enjoyed seeing another slice of your life!

Beautiful pictures! I enjoyed seeing the picture of the trillium. I remembered the name from hearing my dad identify it when we were in the Pacific NW or in Glacier NP. You must be developing some pretty thick skin by now with all the cold temps you have been through this year!
