The 1st Few Days

1 week before birth. (The "nice" belly shot)

2 hours before birth. (the "not so nice" belly shot)
Daddy's 1st time holding Elijah.

Levi's 1st visit with Elijah. He ran in the room, looked at Elijah and said, "cute", then ran off to look out the window at the bulldozers. :)

My guys!

My friends Jessica and Crystal visited us at the hospital. (so did a few more friends but I didn't get photos of them )
Home! I am not sure what Levi thinks :)

What having 2 boys REALLY looks like...

Groundhog baby!

Hi everyone! So it has been quite an adjustment around here since Elijah was born. Sorry for the lack of new baby photos. My labor was 6 hours from start to finish. I woke up around 3 am with regular contractions 7-8 minutes apart. I took a warm shower and then woke up Andrew as the contractions were picking up speed. we labored in our tiny bath tub until they were 3-4 minutes apart lasting over a minute and then I said "we better call the people watching Levi. They need to be here, NOW!" When they were able to get here we took off for the hospital. I attempted to walk in the door to check in but got no further than the entrance to the ambulance garage before I had to stop with an intense contraction. An off duty nurse stopped and asked if she could help. She grabbed a wheelchair for me and pretty quickly they decided to skip check in and go straight up to L & D. They checked me and I was dialated to an 8 already. They called the doctor and by the time she got there I was complete and ready to push. I was able to make it through birth med. free but boy was it intense and really, really hard and painful! His head was not engaged properly so my doctor worked with me on changing positions to try to get him free. As soon as I was able to roll on my other side he was ready to come out (after at least an hour of pushing). He was born in his bag of waters. It never broke. (good thing I didn't "wait for my water to break" like the hospital suggested at one point) Andrew said it was kinda interesting. It doesn't often happen but it kept Elijah's heartbeat steady and peaceful through the whole birth. He was born at 9:14 am so we were only in the hospital 2 hours. He then did the birth crawl up my belly and began nursing immediately. After 3 hours of cuddling I allowed them to take him to get weighed and cleaned up. He was 9 lb 2 oz, 22" long. At his 10 day appointment he weighed 9 lb 9 oz. He is growing fast! More later hopefully!

Christmas Visit 2012

I really like this family photo in front of the Crandall Christmas Tree. For memories sake, Levi says "Merry Christmas Tree" as his Christmas greeting.
Here are a few Christmas present opening pictures.

Levi still talks about "baby Ramona" quite often.
All the cousins before the pinata. I have more to post but with computer problems it might be a bit yet. We had a good time seeing you all and miss you already. It was great to see Ramona again and meet Joel for the 1st time!

Thanksgiving 2012

Levi is thrilled to ride on the airplane this year to go see Mimi & Papa Balsley.

Levi & Mimi enjoying the park.

We did not realize there was a sign until AFTER the chase.

Picnic fun.

They took us to the Nixon Library and there was a special Christmas Tree & Train display that Levi loved.

Thanksgiving Dinner with the Balsley Clan.

Snow Day & Singing

Andrew is singing right now with a community choir. The 1st concert (yesterday) was with the town orchestra. The concert today is at the "Old Stone Church" and is a full choral concert. I was able to attend the "dress rehearsal" with Levi earlier in the week. That was a treat for me as both concerts conflicted with Levi's sleep schedule.

Levi has reached his "50 good boy stickers" milestone and received some new parts for his "tato-head".

We had out 1st sizable snow fall this weekend and Levi, Andrew & I got out to enjoy it. This was Levi's 1st attempt at snow removal.

The snow had perfect snow man making chemistry.

What a great snowman, guys!

There is no comparison to fun had with dad on the sled! i have many more photos to post including our wonderful trip to California but it will have to be another time and another post. Happy December!
